Hi friends,
As I’ve mentioned to some of you, one of my primary motivations for starting Half Her Age was to retrain my brain to believe I could write shorter-form pieces than the long manuscript I spent most of the last decade writing and revising. After spending all that time focusing on one project, I had developed a bit of a block. I’m happy to say I’ve grown back into my love of essay writing.
The core weekly essay-posts are and will remain free. It fills me with so many warm feelings to hear from readers who resonate with the musings I share there. I’ve also started to put together some writing prompts to accompany each post, for those who might want to delve a little deeper, and perhaps exercise your own short-form writing muscles.
As always, I’d love to read anything you write in response. You’re welcome to share in the comments below (only paid subscribers will see these, and if you feel comfortable, I think it would be a lovely way for some of my people to get to know each other), or you can also message them directly to me.
Prompt #4:
